You Can Help

Some of life's simplest necessities in the Dominican Republic are are often taken for granted in the USA.  Seeing how other cultures struggle to survive everyday helps to put our lives in perspective.  While building the school in Habanero we asked the Director of the nearest school if there was something we could bring from the USA for his school.  Of all things, he simply asked for chalkboard erasers.  The government schools budget does not allow for basic classroom supplies. Evergreen Ministries purchased chalkboard erasers and delivered them to the school on the last mission trip which was in October 2006. Currrently, two mission trips are planned to the Dominican during the summer and fall of 2007.   Evergreen Ministries' team members traditionally fill their airline baggage with some of the simple necessities needed to help the people in Habanero.   If you would like to help fill the luggage on this trip here's how......

Consumables – Used daily by 50 – 60 children.
	8 ½ x 11 paper ** HELP ** HELP ** We use a box of 500 per month for writing and copying. You can purchase and get it to me or donate the cash and I’ll buy it in the Dominican. It’s about $15.00 USD for a box of 500 in the Dominican. The paper will be helpful for the dental team also. They will be setting up medical files on the children going to the school.

Pencils #2 We use approximately 100 pencils per month. This request has been filled by Steve and Sandee Hallock! They donated enough pencils for an entire school year! Thank you so much!

Crayons – The chubby ones for little hands. We use about 12 boxes per month. Thankfully this request has been filled by Jill Burghardt. Jill donated a variety of items for the school.

Chalk - We use about 8 boxes per month. Sometimes you can get these at Dollar Tree for $1.00 a box also.

Hygiene Class - Toothbrushes – Dollar Tree has them 5 in a package for $1.00 Toothpaste – Dollar Tree has a 7 oz Aim for $1.00 per tube. Personal Size Tissue Package – Dollar Tree has a package of 10 for $1.00

Financial Contributions are Accepted as Well
	If you would like to donate instead of buying the supplies, I will purchase the supplies in the Dominican Republic which helps the local economy which, indirectly, helps the people as well.
